Here is the old Gap (G A P) and the new Gap logo (with square). The old logo is extra condensed and may be in the Century family. The new one looks similar to Helvetica bold but not quite... the discussion on "Your logo makes me barf" is hilarious and mainly is about, if you are going to redesign a logo is that all you can come up with?
